Become #conscious

Sustainability at Fashion Cloud.

We strive for taking action and responsibility for more sustainability in wholesale.

At Fashion Cloud, we believe in shaping the world we live in by making decisions according to our core value #conscious. We strive to act responsibly and build a product and a company that work in service of people and the planet.

In addition to promoting a socially and environmentally responsible corporate culture, we want to help the wholesale community share their sustainability efforts more transparently via our platform.

Certificates and Sustainable Attributes
To provide better guidance and transparency, we work with quality seals and certificates.
Organic 100 – content standard

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is an international, voluntary
standard that provides chain of custody verification for materials originating on a farm certified to recognized national organic standards.
The standard is used to verify organically grown raw materials from
the farm to the final product.

GOTS Organic

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally recognised standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. For certification, the entire production chain is checked with regard to environmental and social requirements. In this case, the product carries the label level “organic”, i.e. it contains at least 95% certified natural fibres.

GOTS – made with organic materials

For certification, the entire production chain is checked with regard to environmental and social requirements. In this case, the product bears the label level “made with organic materials”, i.e. it contains at least 70% certified natural fibres.

Leather Working Group

Sustainability attributes on Fashion Cloud.

The industry needs transparency - now!

Fashion Cloud supports sustainability attributes as part of product data at GTIN level. These attributes include a variety of certifications and standards issued by independent third-parties as well as trade- marked materials.

Widely used examples are: Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Global Recycled Standard (GRS), LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and many others.

Brands can share up to four sustainability attributes per product through our Content API with retailers.

How we take climate action.

The industry needs transparency - now!

442t
CO2 offset since 2019

A milestone for Fashion Cloud: Since 2021, we are officially a company with financial climate contribution. YAY! But what does this mean?

We have been offsetting the emissions of our business activities (our Corporate Carbon Footprint) completely via Gold Standard certified climate protection projects and continuously work on reducing unavoidable emissions.

Our annual corporate carbon footprint includes all direct and indirect emissions as well as the indirect emissions of our value chain (Scope 1, 2 & 3). Up until now this amounts to 442 metric tons of CO2 equivalents in the calculation years 2019, 2020 and 2021.

ClimatePartner supports us in making the entire process traceable and transparent.

Sustainable development is a collaborative effort.

We are on this sustainability journey together!

For us, it is important that sustainability certifications like GOTS and GRS not only check and certify materials, but also social and environmental standards. In order to make these measures as transparent as possible for our customers, we also share our certificates and sustainability attributes with our wholesale partners via Fashion Cloud.

Our partners in sustainability.

Since 2020, we have been a member of Leaders for Climate Action. In this initiative over 3,000 companies focused on collaboration, decarbonization and co-creating knowledge to move all our sustainability journeys forward.

Since 2021, ClimatePartner has supported us in calculating, reducing and offsetting CO2 emissions. The entire process is traceable through ClimatePatner's "Financial Climate Contribution" label and their certificate.

Stop snoozing start moving. Management commitment and #conscious corporate culture.

At Fashion Cloud everyone is part of the sustainability journey – our management, our sustainability team and all the other teams too.
