Fashion Cloud acquires Stockbase to accelerate the growth of its European B2B network
Fashion Cloud, Europe’s leading B2B platform for the fashion industry, announces its acquisition of Stockbase.
Stockbase, a company that connects hundreds of brands and retailers for the purpose of longtail e-commerce has grown at an impressive rate over the last couple of years and has become the dominant player in this field for the Benelux market. With Stockbase, brands upload their product stock and -images in order to publish products on retailers’ webshops. Retailers use this to extend their product offering to consumers, often to compliment their existing partnership with a supplier. There are options to ship to the store, or directly to a consumer.
“What Stephan and his team have built is absolutely impressive and an enrichment to the industry. We believe in a future where brands and retailers work together in as many smart ways as possible. By combining our networks, that future has come closer”, says David Schaap, Co-founder of Fashion Cloud.
Fashion Cloud and Stockbase have built up a similar offering, each with their own networks. Both parties see many opportunities to connect each other’s networks in order to allow even more brands and retailers to work together.
“With this deal, we’ve reached our long wanted European footprint. It’s a boost for our company that set out to stimulate collaboration within the fashion supply chain”, says Stephan Bliek, founder of Stockbase.Stockbase will continue to operate as it did. Customers will keep their usual contacts at the company. Stephan Bliek will remain an ambassador for the company in the upcoming years, but won’t take an active role anymore.
